In March, the AJA Foundation held a landmark retreat that brought its board members and staff together in-person for the very first time. The three-day gathering marked an important milestone in the Foundation’s journey, fostering deeper collaboration, alignment, and shared purpose across all levels of leadership.
Set in an environment designed to encourage open dialogue and forward thinking, the retreat featured strategic planning sessions, team-building activities, and opportunities to reflect on AJA’s mission and long-term vision. With both board and staff present, the retreat created space for meaningful exchange—strengthening relationships and building a unified vision for the work ahead.
A key focus of the retreat was reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to its three core pillars: water, healthcare, and education. Through thoughtful discussion and shared learning, participants explored how the AJA Foundation can continue to create sustainable impact in communities around the world. To date, the Foundation has donated over $14.7 million globally.
The retreat also served as an opportunity to welcome the Foundation’s newest board members—Ana de Diego, Blanca de Diego, Hannes Streeck, and Valentina Vinante—and to express gratitude to returning board members—Andy Astrachan, Cathy Daniels, Bob Ezrin, Sandra Kanengiser, and Amy Wood—for their continued leadership and dedication to life-changing philanthropic efforts.
